General Overview

What is Accounting for Delphi?
AFD is full-featured, multi-user, multi-company accounting system. There are eleven modules (plus the Administration and Main modules that you receive at no charge). Each module can run alone or in conjunction with any other combination of modules.

What you receive:
What you won't get is components, dcu's, or OCX's. You get the Delphi source code (all dpr, pas, and dfm files) as one Delphi project per module. You receive the hpj and rtf files for the help projects, and end-user documention in MSWord format. You also receive a license that permits you to distribute your compiled applications, royalty-free, an unlimited number of times.  No third-party components are required to build AFD.

AFD and vertical-market/commercial applications:
We think this should be a no-brainer. For generally less tan $2,000, you can get away from supporting a multitude of accounting systems, add significant value to your application, stand apart from your competition, and provide your customers with a completely seamless solution.

AFD and custom applications:
AFD provides you with the opportunity to give your client exactly what they want in their accounting modules just as you do with your custom applications. You can modify AFD just as easily as you do your own applications. You can also add a significant amount of revenue to your consulting practice without an increase in your hourly rate.

How about integration?
Integrating your application with AFD is very straightforward and is spelled out step-by-step in our Integration Notes topic. In essence, all you have to do is update our tables.

Retail Pricing:
AFD was designed to compete with high-end accounting systems like Macola, RealWorld, Solomon, etc. These sell for $1,000-2,000 per module. We've found that clients won't even blink at $1,250 per module. And you can charge for the Administration module and your normal hourly rate for modifications.

Obviously, the commercial market is quite different and prices are highly dependent on what the competition is charging and other factors.

What about support?
We expect you to support your customers. But we, in turn, will provide you with the best support of any product you've ever purchased.

First, we'll be glad to answer all of your questions, whether they be about accounting, Delphi, or selling or modifying AFD.

Second, you can often reach someone who knows AFD around the clock by email, and if we're in the office we answer the phone, no matter what the time.

Third, we maintain a detailed log on our ftp site of every change, enhancement, and bug fix. You can download this file as often as you like.

Fourth, would you believe 24-hr turnaround on bugs reports? And sometimes as little as a few hours. They'll be rare, but you won't have to wait for the "next release." You can get the current source any time you like; just call or send us an email.

Fifth, we welcome suggestions. If your customers are asking for a specific feature and it's not industry-specific we want to hear it.

Finally:
AFD was written by developers, for developers. It's probably not a lot different than you'd do it yourself if you had a few man-years to invest.

Take a look at the other pages on our web site and download the demo and play with it. We've tried to provide you with everything you need up front to decide if AFD is for you.

If you have questions or comments, we'd like to hear from you. Call or send us an email.
