Music

I've been collecting music for many years, first LP's, and of course, now CD's.  Along the way I wrote a program to catalog my collection.  The current version is a Windows application with complete on-line help. It will let you browse your collection just about every way imaginable and it can import track information from the CDDB files that many of the players get from the Internet (http://www.cddb.com).  Saves a ton of typing, but you can always enter your disk info the old fashioned way too.  Anyway, it's freeware; just click on the link to download - CD Tracker.   You'll end up with a file named cdt.exe.  This is a standard Windows install file.  Just click on it to start the installation.

The CDDB site also has a 'Downloads' page that lists all of the players available that support the CDDB database.  I use NotifyCD, which is freeware.

If you'd like to purchase CD's on-line, visit amazon.com.  You can listen to snippets from several tracks per CD before purchasing (you'll need the Real Audio player mentioned below).   Shipping is prompt and customer service is great if you ever need it.

In addition to playing CD's, you can also receive live radio broadcasts over the Internet.  For this, you'll need the Real Audio player.  There's a free version available, plus their commercial versions.  To get a current list of radio stations broadcasting live, visit RealGuide.   Some of my favorites are:
